Saab confirms twin-seat Gripen F development for Brazil

Saab has confirmed to IHS Jane's that Brazil's aerospace industry will be given the opportunity to develop a two-seater version of the Gripen NG as part of the USD4.5 million consignment of 36 fighter aircraft ordered by the country.
At a meeting on 30 January with Brazilian aerospace industry experts and representatives from Sao Bernardo do Campo in Sao Paulo, the vice-president of Saab, Dan Jangblad, discussed Brazil's participation in the production of the two-seater Gripen F model.
Out of the 36 fighter jets under the FAB F-X2 programme, eight of the aircraft will be twin-seat Gripen Fs and the rest will be in the single-seat Gripen Es.
