Royal Thai Navy (RTN) commander-in-chief latest said to media on China S26T
Submarine issue in 117th annversary of Royal Thai Navy's Day on 20 November
2023 that 16V 396 SE84-GB31L diesel generator engine is German MTU 396 license
bulit in China.
CSTC (China Shipbuilding Trading Co., Ltd.) told RTN about this issue for
change engine to CHD 620 on 2019, RTN Naval Dockyard committee has inspected
accepted it in June 2023.
Thailand-China Government-to-Government agreement on S26T submarines programme
to be expired on 30 December 2023, RTN will issueed warning letter to China
within 15 days before for the fine.
CSSC (China State Shipbuilding Corporation) still DISAGREEs to change S26T
Submarine deal to Frigate or Offshore Patrol Vessel (OPV) due it bulid RTN's
Submarine hull for more than 50%.
However RTN now has been forced by Ministry of Defence led by civilian
government to give up and abandon its Submarine programme and hope to rely on
sacred things to resolve this issues.
It might be end up by Royal Thai Navy will get nothing neither S26T nor new
Frigate.

105 Royal Thai Army (RTA) soldiers who participated in Joint Pacific
Multinational Readiness Center 24-01 (JPMRC 24-01) at Scholfield Barracks,
Hawaii, USA returned to Thailand on November 15, 2023, after effectively
completing their training.
They’re prepared to utilize their expanded expertise to the fullest extent

General Songwit Noonpackdee, Chief of Defence Forces of the Royal Thai Armed
Forces, and delegation participated in the Field Training Exercise (FTX) and
the closing ceremony of the joint/combined exercise AMAN YOUYI 2023.
On 22 November 2023, at 0805 hours, the Chief of Defence Forces and
delegation departed from the Sheraton Zhanjiang Hotel and arrived at the
Malong Training Centre at 0930 hours to receive a briefing and observe the
FTX.
This Exercise involved counter-terrorism and the transition of Maritime
Security training among Chinese, Cambodian, Lao, Malaysian, Thai, and
Vietnamese armed forces.
The Chief of Defence Forces later attended the closing ceremony of the
Exercise and expresssed gratitude to the Chinese People's Liberation Army
for their hospitality.
General Songwit Noonpackdee admired the colllaborative training, emphasizing
its importance in strengthening relationships across various dimensions and
fostering future goodwill among the participating nations.
The Exercise, codenamed AMAN YOUYI, means "friendship that builds peace."
Later, at 1740 hours, the Chief of Defence Forces and delegation left the
hotel for Maxie Pier, an approximate 20-minute journey, to attend a
reception on a Chinese landing craft where Lieutenant General Yang Zhi
Liang, Political Commissar of the South Sea Fleet, hosted the reception.
